Home / Steam & Industrial Museums / Grane Mill Engine House, Haslingden [18]

It was nice to make a visit to the Grane Mill Engine House at Haslingden in Lancashire again on the 13th of May 2018, something I was long overdue for, having previously visited them back in 2009 and 2010. Usually it is only open to the public on the annual Heritage Open Weekends held in September every year, but this time it was open to participate in the National Mills Weekend. The Heritage Trust for the North West are actively restoring the engine and boiler house, and I look forward to the day when it is open to the public on a regular basis. My thanks to Dave and the team for a very enjoyable visit, and you are all doing a great job in preserving this impressive engine and site. The site is well worth a visit, so do be sure to check them out in September, you should find the details on the Heritage Open Days site a bit closer to the time. If you'd like to help out and be a volunteer there I'm sure they would be happy to hear from you.

I took a number of photographs during my previous visits there, and these were displayed on my old Fotopic site, but I never got around to uploading all the pre-2010 images to this new site, so I will try and put that right when time permits.
