Since most of December is taken up with the Santa Specials, I don't often have a 'non-events in December' album, but as I made a visit on Sunday 30th of December to have a ride behind the famous A4 Pacific 'Union of South Africa', I thought a record of my day out might be in order. I had planned for a quiet day of just riding, but as often happens with me, that plan lasted about 5 minutes, and I ended up at various locations, and yes you've guessed it, getting wet again. I was a little annoyed with myself for deciding to ride to Heywood though, as if I'd stayed at Bury I would have seen newly restored Standard 4 '80097' pass through on a test run to Ramsbottom in the spare path, as it was all I got was a shot of its tender as it sat outside the Bury South Signal Box. I'm sure it won't be the last time I see it in the coming months though.
