My first non-event visit to the ELR in March 2020 took place on Sunday 15th of March and was a fairly short one as I had to depart early to catch the bus up to nearby Accrington to catch a railtour that was passing through there, thankfully I did have time to catch the last service of the day arriving on my return. Standard 4 '80097' was handling the steam service and the Class 47 '47765' in the ScotRail livery was handling the diesel runs. 2890 (still masquerading as 52345) was hauling the Dining Train, but I didn't have time to get a shot of it, even though it was arriving just as I set off for Accrington. Will this prove to be my one and only visit this month? Who knows for sure in the current crisis, I certainly hope not, but as an over 65 I may have to stay away if instructed, though will there even be any services to miss? We are living in very strange and unprecedented times!:-(
