Usually I go to Day 2 of the 'Christmas Cracker' event at the Museum of Transport in Manchester, especially as the city is very busy at this time of the year, especially on Saturdays, and even more so when the two local Premier League teams are playing in a local 'derby' match that day, but with two railtours passing through the area that day and a chance of catching a few shots of UK Railtour's 'Over the Pennines to Manchester' tour from London King's Cross to Manchester Victoria Station, I decided that it would be too good an opportunity to miss and so went on Day One instead. The tour arrived about 5 minutes late, which wasn't too bad, and was topped and tailed by two smart looking DB Class 67 locos '67010' and '67021' (skips), and stopped in Platform 3 for a while before going off to park somewhere until it was time to return to London.
