The first Sunday in September usually sees the Trans Lancs Transport Show at Heaton Park in Manchester, and this is one of the biggest events in the north of England. This year would have been it's 39th year, but the event had to be cancelled due to the state of the grassed areas in the park where the vehicles are normally displayed, this was due to a combination of recent heavy rains and a pop concert held there recently which churned it up a bit. In its place the organisers put on an event called the 'Ribble 100 & X60 90th' to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Ribble buses, and the 90th anniversary of the X60 service which carried thousands of passengers to the popular seaside resort of Blackpool. A number of Ribble buses were on display inside and outside the Museum of Transport on Boyle Street, and a number of shuttles were run over to Heaton Park, where several more buses were on display next to the heritage tramway there. There was also an exhibition about the history of the X60 route inside the museum, plus a stand manned by those nice folks from the Ribble Vehicle Preservation Trust.

This gallery contains a number of images taken at both the museum and park.
