This was the second such event run jointly by the Ribble Steam Railway at Preston and the Ribble Vehicle Preservation Trust (RVPT), though the first one I'd been able to attend due to the train strikes held on Saturdays throughout much of 2018 preventing me from travelling there. Very good it was too, and nice to mix two of my favourite subjects - heritage buses and railways. With a number of preserved buses not only on display at the RSR, but also doing runs around the city, it was very enjoyable making trips on the open top buses, which always give a much better view of a place. It was also nice to spend a bit of time around the Preston Bus Station photographing service buses, something I haven't done since 2009. As well as the bus rides I also had a ride behind one of the steam train as well, which added to the enjoyment.

My thanks to all the folks from the RVPT and RSR for this event, and I suspect that there is a good chance I will be back again next year. To get a better idea of what things looked like be sure to check out Mr Mollsmyre's video of the event, if you look very carefully you might even see me getting my big head in his shots from time to time (sorry Tommy!):-) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=25Jv1lMS0NM&feature=em-uploademail
