If there was one event that I really wanted to attend it was the Ribble Vehicle Preservation Trust's (RVPT) 'Lytham Hall Bus Running Day', which centres on the historic Lytham Hall, and makes regular runs to nearby Fairhaven Lake and St Annes Square. Now in its fourth year, this has become a top event, and I can well understand why - what a location and backdrop to take photographs at! Due to health problem travelling there hadn't been possible for me during the previous 3 events, but watching Mollsmyre's excellent videos of the event made me even more determined to make it there this time, and I am well pleased that I did. It was impressive to see the two beautifully restored Leyland Lions in action, and the only negative point for me was that due to my late arrival due to the difficulties that travelling by public transport on an August Bank Holiday tend to cause, I didn't have enough time to have a visit around the hall itself, which would have been great for a local history fan like me. Not to worry though, it gives me a good excuse to go again next year (not that I really need one), and I'm looking forward to it already.

My thanks to the RVPT for organisng the event and to all the volunteers who made it happen, and especially to bus owners for letting us ride on their beloved vehicles, it's greatly appreciated. I would also recommend viewing Mollsmyre's video of the day on YouTube, which can be found here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OZtdjeMFcHw&feature=em-uploademail"

NOTE# As per usual I managed to take a large sized panorama shot of the Hall and event, and this can be found in the Panorama Gallery at the following link. The original composite was over 15,000 pixels wide, which was probably a bit too big for this site, so I've downsized it to just 3,500 pixels. It does give you a really good idea of what the showground looked like though: Panorama shot of the event:
